Yes or no?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So\nlet&#8217;s get started&#8230;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FACTOR\n1: VIDEOS CAN RANK DIRECTLY IN SEARCH RESULTS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfirst and probably the most obvious way video can help with your search\nrankings is that your videos can rank directly in Google&#8217;s search results\nindependent of your website. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over\nthe last few years, Google has been giving a growing importance to video in its\nsearch results. If you do some common Google searches, you will notice videos\nappearing on the first page. And what&#8217;s more, most of the videos appear near\nthe top of the search results which is a trend that is likely to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside\nthis, you&#8217;ve probably noticed that Google has a &#8216;Videos&#8217; tab at the top of it\nsearch results as well which shows results only for videos. So if you are\npublishing videos as part of your content strategy, you&#8217;ll also have a chance\nof ranking in these search results, which typically for most niches, is a lot\nless competitive to rank for when compared to ranking in the text based search\nresults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some\nof the factors which affect how well your videos directly rank in Google&#8217;s\nsearch results include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Your video\u2019s heading, description and tags which\nshould be relevant to the keywords you want your video to rank for.<\/li><li>The quality and relevancy of your video content\nitself.<\/li><li>The strength of the back links pointing to your\nvideo.<\/li><li>And some lesser known things such as Google&#8217;s\nvideo schema mark ups.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FACTOR\n2: INCREASE IN TIME ON SITE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ntime your website visitors spend on a page of your website is known as &#8216;Time on\nPage&#8217;. And the time your website visitors spend on your site as a whole before\nleaving it is known as &#8216;Session Duration&#8217;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both\nof these metrics are available in your Google Analytics panel and are\nindicators Google uses to help determine how people are engaging with your\nwebsite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Basically,\nthe more time people spend on your landing page and the longer they spend on\nyour website as a whole, the better Google thinks you are meeting your\nvisitors\u2019 needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And\nas video is proven to increase the time people spend on your website, video\nwill naturally benefit your SEO efforts on this front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To\nunderstand this point better, here at Spiel we recently took the time out to\nsurvey 60 SEO professionals who had actively started using video as part of\ntheir SEO strategy. The survey\u2019s aim was to help find out what impact video\ncontent has had on their SEO campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And\nguess what we discovered? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A\nwhopping 93.3% of the SEO professionals we surveyed had noticed an increase in\n&#8216;Time on Page&#8217; after they had started using video content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\nthe description below I have included a link to our survey so make sure you\ncheck it out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FACTOR\n3: REDUCTION IN BOUNCE RATE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bounce\nrate is another metric that Google actively uses to determine how engaging and\nrelevant your website is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bounce\nrate is defined as the number of visitors who leave your website after visiting\njust one page on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nyour bounce rate is very high, Google assumes that your web pages are not\nsatisfying the needs of its users very well and will eventually over time lower\nyour rankings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding\nvideo to your landing pages can be a great way of reducing your bounce rate.\nThis fact has been observed in numerous studies such as one conducted by\nContent Analytics that found that the bounce rate for video blogs is on average\naround34 percent lower than the\nrest of the pages on the same site. And our very own SEO survey found that of\nthe 60 SEO professionals that we surveyed, an impressive 63.3% had noticed a\ndirect improvement in their bounce rates after adding video content to their\nsites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So,\nin a nutshell, if you are struggling to increase your website\u2019s bounce rate,\nadding engaging video content could be a good solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FACTOR\n4: INCREASE IN BRAND STRENGTH<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As often mentioned by leading SEO gurus such as <a href=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Neil Patel (opens in a new tab)\">Neil Patel<\/a> and Brian Dean, your brand strength has a significant impact on your search engine rankings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All\nelse being equal, Google will rank websites with a stronger brand strength\nhigher than those lacking in a strong brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two\nimportant factors which help Google determine a website\u2019s brand strength are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The number of brand related searches which are\nperformed for your website<\/li><li>The amount of direct traffic your website\ngenerates<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s\nlook into how video can help with both of these, starting with brand related\nsearches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Video\nis great for increasing your brand related searches this is because if people\nhave watched your videos on social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook\nand Linkedin they are more people are likely to search your brand to learn\nabout you. Makes sense right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another\nimportant question we asked in our survey was: After using video content, has\nthe SEO&#8217;s noticed an increase in brand related searches for their website? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And\nthe result&#8230;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>70%\nof the SEO professionals had noticed a direct clear improvement in brand\nrelated searches after adopting video. Again, pretty impressive, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\nregards to direct traffic, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/backlinko.com\/google-ranking-factors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brian Dean of Backlinko<\/a>, this is something that\nGoogle does give importance to in its algorithm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Think\nof it this way, if there are two websites which discuss a particular subject,\nlet&#8217;s say snowboarding, and one gets over a 100,000 direct visitors a month and\nthe other only a few hundred direct visitors a month, which is Google likely to\nview as being a more trustworthy source of information on the topic?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And\nit&#8217;s no surprise that publishing video content regularly on your website and\nsocial media channels is likely to over time lead to a lot to more direct\ntraffic to your site as a growing number of people start engaging with your\ncontent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FACTOR 5: INCREASE IN BACKLINKS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We\nall know that the more good backlinks a website has, the better it will rank in\nsearch engines. But good backlinks can be notoriously difficult to acquire\nwhich is why most people struggle with it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But\nsurprisingly, not many people think of using video specifically as a way to\nacquire more high quality backlinks to their content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Did you know that according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/moz.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"SEO whizzes at Moz (opens in a new tab)\">SEO whizzes at Moz<\/a>, content that includes video usually attracts a whopping 3 times more inbound links than content without video? So if you aren&#8217;t using video as part of your link building strategy, you are likely to be missing out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But\ndon&#8217;t worry.
