Because I will be\nchecking the comments regularly and will do my best to help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So\nlet&#8217;s get going&#8230;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whiteboard\nanimations involve images being drawn on a white background with a moving hand\nappearing to be doing the drawing. They are usually accompanied by a voiceover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quite\nsimple right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nyou want to produce something a bit different than the classic whiteboard\nanimation, there are some variations of it which you can consider which pretty\nmuch involve the same steps to create. These include black board animation,\nstitch board animation and notebook animation. Although our personal favourite\nhere at Spiel<s>, <\/s>remains the classic whiteboard animation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So\nlet&#8217;s now get into the exact steps involved in producing a whiteboard video:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP\n1: SCRIPTWRITING<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfirst step in the process of creating a whiteboard animation is to write your\nscript. A good script is key to the success of your video, so make sure you\nreally put the effort into making it the highest quality possible. In this\nvideo, we won&#8217;t go into depth on how to write a high impact script as we&#8217;ve\ncovered this in other videos on our channel &#8211; so check them out if you need\nfurther help with this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One\nthing I will mention here is that when writing the script for your whiteboard\nanimation, make sure you keep it as short and impactful as possible. A good\nrule of thumb is to remember that every 150 words of your script will be\nequivalent to approximately 1 minute in video duration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP\n2: RECORD YOUR VOICEOVER<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once\nyou&#8217;ve finalised your script, the next step in the process is to record your\nvoiceover. It is important to record your voiceover straight after you have\nwritten your script because the voiceover will be used to mark the timings for\nthe animation during the storyboard stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\ncan either do your voiceover yourself or get it recorded by a professional\nvoiceover artist to a high standard at a relatively low cost. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nyou decide to record your voiceover yourself, make sure you use a good quality\nmicrophone and have a quiet, soundproof room to do your recording. And make\nsure the tone of your voice is expressive and upbeat, as a passive monotone\nvoice will lower the engagement of your video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP\n3: STORYBOARDING<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nnext step in the production process is to create your storyboard. This\nbasically involves creating rough sketches of the visual images you want to\nappear in your video during specific time intervals, pretty much like a comic\nstrip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\nis useful to use a storyboard template to help you with this. There are\nnumerous free storyboard templates available online, available to download. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP\n4: CREATE YOUR ILLUSTRATIONS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once\nyou have finalised your storyboard the next step in the process is to create\nyour illustrations using a software tool such as Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nyou don&#8217;t feel comfortable drawing your own bespoke images or simply don&#8217;t have\nthe time, don&#8217;t worry. You can use pre-existing images from the stock image\ngalleries available in popular whiteboard animation production software such as\nVideoScribe and Doodly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP\n5: ANIMATE <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nnext step of the process is to animate your video using your preferred\nsoftware. We at Spiel use the Adobe Creative Suite to create our animations &#8211;\nwhich is great to create studio level videos, but it is more catered towards\nexperienced professionals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nyou are looking for a simpler software tool which requires having little to\nalmost no animation experience, then check out VideoScribe, Animaker,\nExplaindio, GoAnimate and Doodly to see which one works best for you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP\n6: ADD YOUR VOICEOVER &amp; SOUND EFFECTS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once\nyou are happy with your animation, the next and final step to complete your\nproduction is to add your voiceover and sound effects which you should be able\nto do with the software you have used to animate your video. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For best results, I suggest using a\nseparate audio editing software such as Adobe Audition to make sure it\u2019s to a\nprofessional quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An\nimportant thing to remember when adding music and sound effects to your video\nis that they should complement your story but never overshadow it. So it&#8217;s\nimportant to make sure that the volume of your sound effects and background\nmusic doesn&#8217;t overpower your voice over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP\n7: THUMBNAIL &amp; VIDEO ACTIVATION<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Having\nan engaging thumbnail is essential for making sure all the hard work you put\ninto creating your video finally pays off. The more engaging your thumbnail,\nthe more compelled people will be to watch your video. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nyou need more information on how to create engaging thumbnails, you can watch\nour video which will teach you exactly this, the link to which I have included\nin the description below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Promoting\nyour video is another important component to consider. This includes creating a\nhigh conversion design for the landing page on which you will add your video,\nand following the best practices for the social media channels that you will\nuse to promote it. So check them out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">BONUS\nTIPS TO ENHANCE THE ENGAGEMENT OF YOUR WHITEBOARD ANIMATION<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before\nI leave you to get creating, I will go through four important tips that you\nneed to be aware of if you want to get the most out of your whiteboard\nanimation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TIP\n1: KEEP IT FLOWING WITH INTERCONNECTED SKETCHES<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>One\nof the key differences between whiteboard animation and other styles such as\ncartoon animation or motion graphics is the use of interconnected sketches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\nthis basically means is that you should aim to continue adding your visual\nimages to the same screen without too many erases or cuts, so that there is a\nnice continuous flow to the video. Making sure you make good use of\ninterconnected sketches in this way will ensure higher engagement levels than\nif you keep erasing the board and starting with the visuals from afresh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TIP\n2: GENERATE EMOTION<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Another\nkey factor which separates great whiteboard animations from the more standard\nones is that the higher performing ones do a significantly better job of\ngenerating the desired emotions in their viewers. So make sure you take into\nconsideration how you will accomplish this through your narration, the tone of\nyour voiceover and use of visual images. Upbeat and expressive videos almost\nalways deliver better results than monotone ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TIP\n3: KEEP IT TRADITIONAL<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Most\nwhiteboard animations stick to the same format of a white background with black\nsketches. There is a reason why this formula keeps getting repeated. And that&#8217;s\nthat it simply works. In general, diverging from this time tested approach and\nover-using colour, particularly in the backgrounds, tends to reduce the impact\nof the video as it can distract the viewer from its message. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now\nthis doesn&#8217;t mean that you should never use colour, just that you should use it\nmore conservatively. For example you could add a few touches of your brand\ncolours or use colour to emphasise particularly important points such as your\ncall to action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TIP\n4: DON&#8217;T MAKE YOUR VIDEO TOO LONG<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To\nget the maximum engagement from your whiteboard video, make sure you don&#8217;t drag\nit out.
