This can be a really useful feature when you embedyour videos onto your website. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can change the colour and design of the actual video\nplayer itself, including the play button, the play bar, player controls, and even\nadd your logo into the video player. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And most importantly, unlike YouTube, you can customise\nthe end screen of your videos. That means you can capture leads, or directly recommend\nthe next video that you want your viewers to watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So when using Wistia, you won&#8217;t have to worry about losing\nyour viewers to your \u201ccompetitor\u201d videos or cat videos which can happen when\nyou add videos hosted on YouTube to your website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Feature #2 Video Thumbnails<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Most video hosts allow you to upload your own static\nthumbnail, but with Wistia, you can add a <em>video<\/em> thumbnail. This seemingly\nsmall change can really help boost the play rate of your videos by making them\ninstantly stand out on your landing pages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Feature #3 Social Sharing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Wistia also allows you to add a social sharing function\ninto your video player. In other words, the viewer can instantly share your\nvideo across any social platform you want, while also allowing you you to add\nyour own pre-written copy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Feature #4 CTAs <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If your video\u2019s goal is to generate more sales, Wistia allows\nyou to add a customisable call-to-action at the end of your video, or at any\npoint throughoutyour video. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This can be something like an email capture form in the\nmiddle of your video, urging viewers to enter their details in order to watch\nthe remainder of your video. You can then keep testing the placement of your\nCTA to find out what works best for maximizing sign-ups<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or, if you want people to visit a specific page on your\nsite, you can add a direct link to it from your video. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a major advantage of Wistia over more popular\nvideo hosting platforms such as YouTube who prioritise keeping users on <em>their<\/em>\nsite. This means that YouTube do not allow most of their users to add direct\nlinks in their videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Feature #5 Sales Automation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If sales automation is a key priority of yours, then\nWistia can be great for this as their platform can be directly integrated with\nmany of the leading sales automation software&#8217;s such as SalesForce, Hubspot,\nEventbrite and Marketo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Feature #6: Sophisticated Analytics and A\/B Testing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One thing you will often hear about Wistia is that it\u2019s\ngreat for analytics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just having a quick look at this example page of the\nstats and you can see the level of insight you can get. Heat maps allow you to\nsee where your audience where they dropped off, re-watched, and where they\nfollowed through on a CTA (or didn\u2019t).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While other video hosts have caught up with Wistia in\nterms of the analytics, an important difference with Wistia is that it actually\nallows you to re-upload an updated version of your video without having to\nreplace the videos url, like you would have to with YouTube for example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This feature really helps when it comes to testing\ndifferent CTAs, hooks and storylines to see what works best as each time you\nmake a change to your video, you won&#8217;t have to worry about editing all the old\nvideo links to the new one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Feature #<strong>7 Embed links<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With longer form videos such as webinars or other\neducational content, it can be really helpful to break your content into\ndifferent sections. Using embed links, Wistia allows you to create custom links\nfor specific points in your videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Feature #8 Channels <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Wistia now encourages the use of its channel feature,\nwhere you can group your videos together so that your viewers can view \u2013 or\nbinge watch \u2013 your videos on certain subject matters in a specific order. Whilst\nthis can be useful in certain situations, we don\u2019t think Wistia can really compete\nwith YouTube on this front due to &nbsp;the visibility\nand reach that YouTube offers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Feature #9 Soapbox<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Soapbox allows you to make very personable videos from\nyour webcam and upload them in a matter of minutes. This can be a great feature\nif you want to send out bespoke personalised videos to your prospects as part\nof your sales strategy or communicate with your existing customers in video\nformat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Wistia Plans\n&amp; Pricing<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three plans: Free, Pro and advanced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the plans have access to their \u2018standard\u2019 features,\nwhich is most of the features we\u2019ve mentioned in this video, with the exception\nof Soapbox, A\/B testing and Wistia channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On their free plan, you can only upload 3 videos, all of\nwhich will have a Wistia logo in the bottom corner of your video player. I only\nrecommend this free version as a means of testing Wistia out to see if it is\nright for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any intention to use Wistia long-term for\nyour business, you will need to consider their pro plan at $99 per month. Yes,\nit can be a bit pricey if you are on a tight budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This plan has the same features as the free one, except\nyou can upload up to 10 videos for free (any extra video upload after that costs\nyou an additional 25 cents per month).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And finally, you have the advanced plan at $399 per month:\n100 free videos, A\/B testing, and Premium integration with Hubspot, Pardot and\nMarketo. You can also make use of the Wistia Channel feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But most importantly\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is it worth it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As always, it\u2019s totally dependent on what you need to get\nfrom your video content. If your target is to get more conversions on your\nwebsite landing pages, then Wistia can be a great place to start if you can\nafford paying $99 dollars a month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, if you want to increase your brand\nstrength, direct more traffic to your site and grow your social media presence,\nthen hosting your videos on a more popular platform such as YouTube would be a\nbetter option for you. It really depends on your specific needs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Personally, I don\u2019t really see much value in\ngoing for the Advanced plan unless have a sophisticated marketing set up. The\nmain value of this plan is integration into other marketing platforms and A\/B\ntesting, which can be done manually if you are on a lower budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In conclusion, Wistia is a great tool when the main goal of\nyour videos is to drive more conversions from your landing pages. This is\nbecause their features allow for better testing, optimisation and lead\ncapturing for this specific purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I hope you\u2019ve enjoyed this video!
