Let us known in the comments\nbelow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So let&#8217;s dive in and learn more\nabout how to present yourself well on camera&#8230;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP #1: KEEP A\nPOSITIVE, GROUNDED POSTURE<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Stand in an upright posture with your shoulders back\u2013 and try not\nto slouch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep your feet grounded on the floor. You don\u2019t want to be glued\nto the floor, but you want to prevent any unnecessary movement. <br>\n<br>\nThe audience\u2019s attention is on you and your message. If you\u2019re always moving\naround, it will be much harder for your audience to take in the key points of\nyour video. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP #2: SMILE!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Smiling is a great way to help you feel more comfortable on camera\nand establish a meaningful connection with your audience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Studies show that smiling more often reduces your stress levels\nand increase the levels of hormones called \u2018endorphins\u2019 that make you feel\nbetter. Put simply, smiling helps you feel good and look good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Numerous studies also show that seeing someone else smile compels\nus to smile. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other words\u2026when people on YouTube (or anywhere else) see you\nsmile, they start to feel good as well, and will become <s>far<\/s> more\nreceptive to your message. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP #3: USE\nPOSITIVE OPEN HAND GESTURES AND BODY LANGUAGE<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>People don\u2019t want\nto see a lifeless robot on the screen. They want to see a real, live human\nbeing who is genuinely passionate about the subject matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But there\u2019s also\nsuch as thing as \u201ctoo much\u201d body language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to body language expert <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCj9QBB4bNTv29f4oFIreNmw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Vanessa Van Edwards (opens in a new tab)\">Vanessa Van Edwards<\/a>, the best way to reach the happy medium is to \u201cstay in the box\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imagine a box\nbetween the top of your chest and the bottom of your waist. Any hand gestures\nwithin that box are acceptable, while going outside the box can distract your\nviewers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for some specific pointers about good vs bad body language, here are some of the things that you need to know:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Don&#8217;t cross your arms or legs when standing. Instead maintain\nnice open gestures. <\/li><li>Same applies to your hands. Maintain nice open hand gestures\nversus closed ones such as clenched fists.<\/li><li>Keep your chin up and a relaxed face. <\/li><li>And don&#8217;t forget to Smile!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And whilst this\ncould be a tip on its own, one of the most important things to do is to\nmaintain eye contact with the camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are staring\ndown at your feet or looking in multiple directions, people will perceive you\nas being unfamiliar with the topic &#8230;..even when you are!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In contrast, by looking at the camera, your audience will feel like you\nare talking with them directly, are more trustworthy and confident in your\nsubject matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP #4: BE ENTHUASTIC AND ADD SOME EXCITEMENT TO YOUR\nVIDEO!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s easy to\nrevert to speaking in a monotone voice, as it requires far less energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, speaking\non camera is not the same as speaking in person. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to speak\nwith more energy, imagine being about 10% more energetic than you usually are.\nAs if you were speaking with a friend about something you\u2019ve been eager to\nshare with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By doing so, you\nwill be speaking at a consistent yet energetic pace that your viewers can keep\nup with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP #5: PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE UNTIL YOU FEEL\nCOMFORTABLE ON CAMERA.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Presenting on\ncamera is a skill that can be honed over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t\npresent everything perfectly the first time, that\u2019s ok! You can keep on\nshooting videos with your smartphone until you feel comfortable with your\npresenting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That said, avoid\ntrying to be perfect. It is ok to be a human, and it is actually more relatable\nfor your viewers than someone who appears to get everything right on the first\ntry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And don\u2019t forget:\nPractice your script! You don\u2019t have to memorize it word-for-word, but you want\nto be familiar with the order of your key talking points and other important details.<s>&nbsp; <\/s><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP #6: ADD YOUR OWN PERSONALITY TO YOUR VIDEOS<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Every person\u2019s\npersonality has something unique to it that makes it their own. Some people are\na bit more energetic, like me, others are more composed, and neither is\n\u2018better\u2019 than the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But your\npersonality is YOURS. Own it. Viewers want to see someone who has their own\nunique charm and isn\u2019t afraid to show it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP #7: ABOVE ALL ELSE, HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE\nPROCESS!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Relax! Loosen up!\nDon\u2019t feel as if you\u2019re under any kind of pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can always\nedit and re-take any shots you feel are not to your liking. <br>\n<br>\nIf you\u2019re still struggling with feeling comfortable, try to get yourself in the\nright frame of mind before presenting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One thing that\nwe\u2019ve found helps nervous presenters is to have a ritual that primes you for\nbeing on camera.<br>\n<br>\nThis can be listening to your favourite music, going for a relaxing walk, or\nanything that gets you going. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We hope you found this video to\nbe useful!
