However, just because your\ntarget audience may be higher than this, it doesn&#8217;t necessarily mean you should\nexclude TikTok, as its demographic might\nstart to shift to include an older audience as it continues to grow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a B2B business with a more corporate clientele, then\nfocusing your efforts on a more relevant platform such as LinkedIn is naturally\nmuch more likely to yield better results for your\nbusiness than putting effort into a more playful one like TikTok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP\n#2: KNOW THE THREE AD FORMATS THAT EXIST ON TIKTOK<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to promoting your content as ads, there are three types of ad formats on TikTok that you should be aware of:<br> <br> <strong>1 &#8211; Biddable. <\/strong>TikTok allows you to spend money on the platform in order to post an advertisement in the form of a 15-second-long, in-feed video ad. You can target age, gender and location. Additionally, you can track relevant metrics such as cost per click, and cost per 6-second view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2 &#8211; Brand Takeover. <\/strong>This type of ad will appear immediately when a TikTok user opens the app. This is a full-screen ad that lasts up to 5 seconds, and can be in the form of a video or static image. Users can be directed to an external page or a page within TikTok. An important point to note about this add format is that at present it is limited to one ad per day. <strong><br> <br> 3 &#8211; Hashtag Challenges. <\/strong>When you click on a promoted hashtag challenge, you will be taken to a page which outlines a certain challenge associated with the hashtag (such as a challenge to create a certain type of lip sync video within a certain time frame). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hashtags challenges can be great for getting users on TikTik to\nengage with your brand in a more interactive way which we will get into in a\nlittle more detail in tip 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP\n#3: MAKE SURE THE CONTENT YOU POST IS BOTH FUN AND CREATIVE<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The corporate type content that works well on platforms like Linkedin\nwon\u2019t work for your business on TikTok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TikTok\u2019s users love \u2018quirky\u2019 playful content, so ditch the\nformality!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Try out more unique, creative and crazier ideas that still fit\nyour brand identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP\n#4: USE HASHTAG CHALLENGES<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s how they work: You click on a promoted hashtag, read the challenge\u2019s\nrules, and then go wild creating! Sometimes\nyou\u2019ll have to re-create a video, or even provide a unique spin on a humorous\ntopic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two of our favourite\nexamples of businesses using thehashtag\nchallenges <s>have <\/s>come from\nMcDonalds and Guess. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McDonald\u2019s created the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcdonalds.com.my\/bigmactiktok\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"#BigMacTikTok Challenge (opens in a new tab)\">#BigMacTikTok Challenge<\/a> in Malaysia, where users danced to a pre-recorded music clip. Users submitted their entries, and a few lucky winners won cash prizes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guess on the other hand did a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mobilemarketer.com\/news\/guess-launches-inmydenim-viral-campaign-on-tiktok\/531472\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"#InMyDenim challenge (opens in a new tab)\">#InMyDenim challenge<\/a>, where users transformed a messy outfit into a better one using Guess clothes. Also try\nto associate your challenge with your brand or product in some way, just like\nhow Guess based their challenge being on the theme of clothing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP\n#5: COLLABORATE WITH OTHER PRODUCERS<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the quickest ways to\ngrow your following on TikTok collaborate with other popular influencers on the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most popular ways of collaborating with other influencers on TikTok\nis by singing duets together, or creating a string of videos that are in direct\nresponse to one another. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you have an influencer on board, the chances of your hashtag\nor videos appearing in users\u2019 \u201cpopular\u201d feeds becomes much higher. And with an\nincrease of brand visibility, comes an increase in brand popularity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Call me psychic but I think I know what you&#8217;re\nthinking&#8230;you just can&#8217;t wait to transform into Jay&#8217;z and Beyonce with your\nfavourite influencer and sing &#8216;Crazy in Love&#8217; for the world to see, all in the\nname of business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And in the fun and whacky world of TikTok&#8230;it may\njust work!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Me personally, I would go for&nbsp; &#8216;Wanna be like you&#8217; from the Disney&#8217;s 1969\nclassic the Jungle Book. If you have some time, I would seriously recommend you\ncheck it out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyway, on a more serious note&#8230;let&#8217;s move on&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP\n#6: USE POPULAR SOUNDS TO MAKE YOURSELF MORE POPULAR.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPopular sounds\u201d are trending songs and sound bytes found on the\n\u201cFor You\u201d page of TikTok. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use them in your videos to take\nadvantage of emerging trends which will increase the chances of your videos\ngoing viral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A good way to do this is to put them at the beginning of your\nvideo so users will immediately recognize them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP\n#7: USE THE BEST FRAME FROM YOUR VIDEO AS YOUR THUMBNAIL<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Choosing the right thumbnail will increase the amount of\nengagement your video gets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may have heard us give a lot of tips over what type of\nthumbnail image increases engagement. Well, with Tik Tok, you have to throw\nthat rule book out. What we\u2019ve actually found is that having an awkward pose,\nor a mid-action screenshot of a fail, funny face, or chaotic scene instantly\ngrabs the attention of TikTok\u2019s younger audience. So get more creative with\nyour thumbnails!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP\n#8: CHOOSE A \u201cSPECIALTY\u201d FOR YOUR VIDEOS<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to building a greater following on TikTok, users\nwill more likely follow an account when they know what type of content they\u2019re\ngetting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So it&#8217;s best to specialise in a particular style of content, and\nthen regularly produce it, whether it be lip-syncing, comedy, singing, edits of\ntrending videos or whatever interests you. So, start thinking and choose your\nspecialty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TIP #9: CONSISTENT CONTENT IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Posting\nfrequently on TikTok is crucial for growing your audience. As you start to\nbuild your presence on the platform, your followers will want to see a\nconsistent stream of engaging content from you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition\nto retaining your previous followers, consistently posting good content will attract new followers to your\nprofile. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At minimum\nyou should be posting once a day, but twice a day or more is a good target to\naim for if you really want to grow your followers at speed.
