Knowing when and how to go Live, along\nwith the best practices, is essential. So stick around as today we are going\nthrough exactly this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hi, I\u2019m John here\nat Spiel Creative. Before we get started, make sure you click the subscribe\nbutton and hit the bell so that you&#8217;ll get notified every time we upload a new\nvideo to help you with your video marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, let\u2019s get\nstarted with the first question that might be on your mind..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What exactly is LinkedIn Live?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well LinkedIn\nlaunched native video content in 2017, and since then video has taken off on\nthe platform. According to LinkedIn, video is the fastest-growing type of\ncontent on their platform, and LinkedIn Live is the latest addition to its expanding\nvideo capabilities. LinkedIn say that Live Video already attracts 24 times more\ncomments and 7 times more interaction than standard text based content, making\nit well worth getting started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>So, how do you get started on LinkedIn Live?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time of\nrecording this video, LinkedIn Live is in its testing phase, which means that\nnot everyone has access to it yet, but you can fill out the application in the\nLinkedIn Help section to request access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019re\napproved as a beta tester, LinkedIn at present requires that you must use an\napproved third-party broadcaster tool to go live from either your personal\nprofile or organization\u2019s page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So which third\nparty broadcaster tool should you choose?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well&#8230;three\npopular options include&#8230; Socialive, Switcher Studio and Restream. Let\u2019s go\nthrough each one starting with Restream:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Restream is\nthe most affordable choice with a free plan to start out on, or a base-level\ncompany plan that starts at $83 per month. It has a lot of great features, but\nour favourite is its multi-source streaming where you can stream on multiple platforms\nat the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And secondly,\nwe have Switcher Studio<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Switcher\nStudio starts out at $29 per month. Their basic plan gives you a lot of leeway\nfor putting together great livestreamed content, including live-editing, guest capability\nand works not only with LinkedIn Live Video, but also YouTube and Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And thirdly,\nwe have Socialive<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Socialive has\nthe most expensive starting price at $179 per month, but if you\u2019re starting out\non LinkedIn Live Video you can get a special discount on the LinkedIn Live help\npage. Namely, their plans allow for unlimited live guests, storage, and\nbroadcasting. If you\u2019re going for an ambitious livestreaming strategy, it might\nbe your best bet!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But if none of\nthose tools work for you, LinkedIn has the full list of approved third-party\nbroadcaster tools listed on their Getting Started page which you can choose\nfrom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve decided\non a third-party tool, you\u2019ll then need to head to the LinkedIn Live help page\nto integrate it into your account following their easy step-by-step guides. With\nyour third-party tool integrated, you\u2019re ready to go live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But before you\nstart streaming, I will go through 6 key tips that will help ensure that your\nLinkedIn Live goes smoothly, resonates with your audience and improves as you\ngo along. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, let\u2019s get\nstarted<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Top 6 Tips for Using LinkedIn Live<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #1 Encourage Interaction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>LinkedIn Live\nis a great opportunity to connect and interact with your audience on a more\npersonal level. So, our first tip is to use LinkedIn Live Video for a type of\nevent that encourages interaction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LinkedIn\nrecommends going live with content such as fireside chats, \u2018ask me anything\u2019\nvideos or influencer interviews. Using more personal-in-nature events can\nreally help boost engagement and forge deeper connections between you and your\nviewers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #2 Share Big News<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>LinkedIn Live\nVideo can be a great way to connect with your audience for big news events. You\ncan use it to celebrate things like anniversaries, new hires awards and even product\nlaunches with your audience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #3 Consider Creating Series-based Content<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Serial content\nis a great way to capture your audience and keep them coming back for more.\nSetting up a serial offer means that they know where and when they can catch\nthe next video. Not only that, but serial content can help increase yourproductivity\nas it allows for more scalable content production because it can use the same\nframework every time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes\nto planning your content, one of the things you\u2019ll want to think about is how\noften you deliver. This is totally dependent on your needs and what works well\nwith your audience, however LinkedIn strongly advises that you limit your live content\nto a max of once per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #4 Prepare for and promote your shoot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When choosing\na time for your livestream, it\u2019s important that you look at the location of\nyour base audience and plan your livestream for a time that\u2019s convenient for\nthem. It&#8217;s also important that you have enough content to stream for at least\n15 minutes, as this is the minimum time frame LinkedIn recommends for a live\nstream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another\nimportant step in the planning process is promoting your livestream. While\nLinkedIn notifies a subset of your followers \u2013 that is the ones that are\nregularly active on the platform and engage the most with your content \u2013 you\u2019ll\nstill want to promote your livestream to cast a wider net. Share the date and\ntime of your livestream on your other marketing channels so people can plan to\nbe there. LinkedIn also recommends that you use the Linkedin Live hashtag to\npromote your event and expand your audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, make\nsure you test that your internet connection is at least 10 MBPS. You can do\nthis by visiting Speedtest.net. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #5 Moderate your stream<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s right.\nIt\u2019s not just a case of pressing record and simply \u2018go&#8217;, you\u2019ll also want to\nmoderate the stream. This is best done by another person in the room (who isn\u2019t\na host) and also has Page Admin access so they can interact with your audience\nas the page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Great\nmoderators are good athandling viewer questions and comments and can\nquickly relay the best ones to the streams hosts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #6 Test &amp; Optimize Your Content<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>LinkedIn Live\nalso provides in-depth analytics that you can use to see how your streams <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your analytics\ncan help identify things to test and change in your LinkedIn Live events. For\nexample, if you see a large drop in engagement towards the end of your stream,\nit might be an idea to try a shorter stream time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or if you\u2019re\nnot seeing as many people join your livestream as you think you should be\ncompared to your reach, try tweaking your intro text and marketing copy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So that about\nwraps it up folks! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I hope you\nfound this video to be useful and learnt something new.
