Kent County Council wanted to drive interest in what the council are doing for adult social care.
Their brochure Local Account for Kent Adult Social Care acted as a go-to guide on what they had achieved over the past 12 months, building on their success every year.
They asked Spiel to create videos that accompanied the brochure in 2015 and 2016, aiming to engage the general public and those working in social care on social media and encourage them to offer feedback on the Adult Social Care department.
After analysing KCC’s previous campaigns and their organisation’s objectives, it was clear that the content needed to be more emotive and visually stimulating to improve engagement levels from the general public around these important issues.
Using storytelling and narrative, we re-worked a fact-heavy video into a human story, using real case studies from the Local Account to connect audiences to the lives of those who were involved with KCC’s Adult Social Care.
This took the form of a motion graphics animation that combined inspiring case studies and statistics, which was implemented across KCC’s social media and digital channels.
Since its release, the video for KCC has significantly driven engagement on social media with the council’s Adult Social Care department.
KCC Project Officer Emma Bartley, said:
“The communication from Spiel was second to none, we didn’t need to chase them at any point during production and the turnaround time for amendments was very prompt.
They took on board all of our comments throughout the process or suggested suitable alternatives. The final video animation looks really good, is informative and we hope it will really raise awareness of the Kent Local Account ‘Here for you, how did we do?’ which, describes the achievements, improvements and challenges that KCC’s Adult Social Care has faced in the last year and sets out our vision for the future.
“I would have no hesitation in recommending Spiel.”
