What Trustatrader wanted was a short and simple yet highly engaging animated TV advertisement, and that’s why they came to us. The key message the company wanted to convey to consumers is easy to understand, so there was no complex explanation to be made, What the client required was a video that would immediately attract and inspire an audience, so that the message was communicated effectively.
Trustatrader wanted to raise awareness that they are a site on which users can search through trusted local trades people – all vetted and verified. Dependable builders, plumbers, electricians etc. can all be found on the website, allowing consumers to contract work out with less stress. By expressing this with a high-class animation, the company’s objective was to raise their brand image and encourage people to use the site.
The Trustatrader TV advert was to be shown on all major TV channels, including Sky 1 and 2, Sky Sports, Sky News, Living, Comedy Central, Discovery, Home and Health, Travel Channel, among others, so it needed to be widely appealing. The video unveiling was to go hand-in-hand with a new website launch, to present the company with a robust and inspiring image.
In our initial consultation with Trustatrader, we established their desired for their brand image and the objectives of the new TV video. We discussed and selected an appropriate style and technique for the video, keeping in mind how this would be incorporated with other marketing content. The idea was to present a consistent and captivating marketing message across all channels, with the animated video as an anchor.
With objectives defined, our scriptwriters began working on an engaging concept for the advert. The key was to convey the message as clearly and concisely as possible, with animations illustrating this in a fun way.
Our illustrators got to work on creating unique, bright, bold and attractive visuals for the TV animation, with a particular focus on the starring character. The new 'trusted trader' character was to represent the trusted trader members of the site, and would be used across the company’s marketing campaign. He was designed as a smart, friendly chap, and in the animation he is shown to always be the one to trust.
To round the video off and give it a huge boost of added appeal, top comedian, actor and presenter David Walliams was chosen as the voiceover artist. His vibrant and familiar voice adds energy to the video and inspires confidence from consumers.
The completed video provides Trustatrader with the ideal welcoming message to consumers, informing them about the company’s service and communicating a brand image full of vitality and conviction. Together with the company’s new user-friendly website, the creative TV advert is set to boost conversion rates and successfully meet our client’s focused objectives.
