Spiel’s Survey of 60 SE0 Professionals: The Impact of Video Content on SEO

We surveyed 60 SEO professionals that have actively incorporated video content into their SEO strategy. Our goal was to discover the impact video content has had on their SEO campaigns.

The survey was carried out throughout the period of February 2020 to April 2020. It will hopefully provide you with valuable insight on the potential benefits and factors to take into consideration before moving ahead with video marketing.

Conclusion

  1. The majority of SEO’s surveyed have stated that video content has had a direct positive impact on their website’s conversion rates (76.7%). In addition, a significant majority have noted that video content has had a positive impact on their websites key engagement metrics such as bounce rates and dwell time.
  2. Most of the SEO’s surveyed stated that video content has had a positive impact on their organic traffic, brand searches and organic rankings.
  3. If the SEO’s surveyed had to restart their video marketing today, the following are the three things they would do differently in order of priority:
    a. Produce a higher volume of video content.
    b. Focus on producing more engaging content.
    c. Spend less per video so that they could scale better.
  4. 65% of SEO’s surveyed are achieving an ROI of over 100% from their video marketing efforts.
  5. 70% of the SEO’s surveyed are planning to continue utilising video content and do so more regularly in 2020 and beyond.
